12 Days Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda

STANDARD LUXURY ADVENTURE TOUR PACKAGE

Day 1: We meet you up at Kenya’s capital; Nairobi to brief you about the safari

In this first day, you meet JT Safaris representative at around 2.00pm for a discussion about the safari to Uganda from Kenya Nairobi. This allows you to get a brief description about what to expect in this safari package.

Day 2: You leave Nairobi for Eldoret

In this 2nd day, you leave for Eldoret town; about 11 Hrs drive to north east of Nairobi in a safari jeep or mini bus. On the way, you go through the famous great Rift Valley. You enjoy a spectacular view of Mount Longonot and other escarpments. Eldoret is near Uganda border where you will spend your overnight at a lodge in preparation for the third day journey. Lunch and breakfast are provided

Day 3: Leave Eldoret for Kampala; Uganda’s capital

On the third day, we cross to Uganda and head to Kampala. Uganda’s capital. In this city you will have to learn about African traditions (early Buganda Kingdoms) and more about African foods. This drive normally takes about 12 hours. Lunch and breakfast are provided. You later spend your overnight and have dinner at a 5-star hotel in Uganda.

Day 4: Leave Kampala for Kalinzu Forest Reserve in Uganda

After breakfast, you leave Uganda’s capital heading west to Kalinzu Forest Reserve. You pass through scenic upcountry. Lunch is provided on the way. It takes about 6 Hrs to drive to Kalinzu forest reserve, a reserve that is a home to over 200 Chimpanzees, variety of reptiles and a different species of birds. You spend your night at camp or a lodge where you will have your dinner

Day 5: Enjoy more game drives at Kalinzu Forest Reserve

After breakfast, you enjoy a morning game drive where you will watch chimpanzees. Get to see spectacular scenery as you trek along the famous Rift Valley escarpment and Rwenzori Mountains, have a chance to learn about the cultural practices of the people who live in this escarpment. During the day, you have a chance to visit lake Bunyonyi in Uganda. Lunch and dinner are provided in a camp or lodge where you will spend your overnight.

Day 6: Get more fun out of Lake Bunyonyi & Bwindi National Park

After breakfast early in the morning, you trek to Gorilla Mountains through a rain forest for 6 hours. This will be determined by the position of gorilla herds at that given time in Bwindi National park. Lunch will be provided along the way. You later have dinner and spend overnight at a lodge or a camp.

Day 7: Spend your day at Lake Bunyonyi in Uganda

In this seventh day after breakfast, you will take your time to enjoy boat riding and swimming at parts of lake Bunyonyi. Lunch will be provided during the day where late after you get back to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 8: Leave Lake Bunyonyi for Kampala; Uganda’s Capital

In this 8th day after your morning meals, you leave Lake Bunyonyi for Kampala through Equator and other countryside scenic escarpments. This normally take a drive of about 12 hours. Lunch will be provided on the way where you also have a chance to take photographs at the equator. In the evening you spend your night at a 5 Star Hotel in Kampala.

Day 9 & 10: Enjoy more of African Culture at Jinja and Kampala

In the 9th and 10th days you spend time enjoying the great outdoors adventurous activities in and around Jinja. Also known as the adventure capital of Uganda; this is the place to get your adrenaline pumping. Enjoy bike riding along the banks of the famous river River or mountain biking through plantations and Mabira Forest where you will enjoy the scenic view of birds and monkeys. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are provided.

Day 11: Leave Jinja for Eldoret; now back to Kenya

After an early morning breakfast, you drive for 7 hours and cross the Kenyan border to Uganda all through to Eldoret town. Where you will spend your late afternoon and evening at 5-star hotel. Have time to learn about Kenyan Meals and cultural practices. Lunch & dinner are provided.

Day 12: Leave Eldoret and head back to Nairobi; Kenya’s capital

After breakfast, you leave Eldoret for Nairobi, a drive that normally takes about 11 hours. Enjoy scenic escarpments of the Famous Great Rift Valley. Upon arrival, we take you back to your hotel where you will have time to plan for your next day travelling to your home or more safaris in Kenya through JT Safaris
